Across Ontario, including Mississauga and Peel, we choose our Mayor, our Ward Councillors (who also sit on Peel Regional Council), and our School Board Trustees.
This is not a formality. This is your one shot to hold these dirty yahoos accountable.
Do not vote for incompetents. Do not vote for liars. Do not vote for failed lawyers, thieves, corrupt, lazy bastards with uncles, or psychopaths currently sitting in these seats.
Do not vote against yourselves.
Look around you. Housing in Mississauga is out of reach for most working families. Putting bread on the table has become a daily struggle. Meanwhile, property taxes climb to science-fiction levels while the services we pay for keep getting worse — and somehow, in their thick heads, that’s treated as normal.
The Hurontario LRT has taken longer and cost more than it took to build the Pyramids of Egypt. Let that sink in. An ancient civilization with hand tools out-built the mafia running this city with modern equipment and billions of your dollars.
City Hall and MiWay management looked at school kids and decided that $145 a month for a bus pass was reasonable! Children!! Getting to school!! $145 a month!!!
And Peel Regional Police — an institution meant to protect this community — keeps ruthless incompetents on the payroll. People running on unresolved personal issues instead of judgment. People incapable of critical thinking when it matters most.
None of this is inevitable. All of it is a choice — made by the people you elected, and re-elected, and stopped paying attention to.
THIS IS YOUR CALL TO ACTION:
Find out who’s running in your ward before you walk into that booth. Check their record — not their campaign signs, not their slogans, not their BS or pretty faces ready for dating sites, their actual record. Look up your candidates at Elections Mississauga or Peel Region Elections.
Talk to your neighbours. Share this post. Bring someone with you who wasn’t planning to vote.
Silence and apathy are exactly what let this happen. Don’t hand them another four years.
Vote October 26. Vote like your housing, your taxes, and your kids’ futures depend on it — because they do!
